Description
Dry Screw Vacuum Pumps | VSB Series
Dry screw vacuum pumps are an increasingly popular choice across industrial applications and, in certain conditions, serve as an excellent alternative to liquid ring vacuum pumps. The VSB Series of dry screw pumps were designed with a robust casing and rotor that operates with low noise levels and is simple to service and maintain. Our dry screw vacuum pumps & systems deliver a clean, oil-free vacuum for a variety of industrial applications. In these applications, our pumps perform with low rotational speed which ensures a smooth and robust operation. Higher discharge pressure capabilities along with a high tolerance for vapor and dust guarantee more process time with long service life. The VSB Series offers a remarkably simple, yet sophisticated design, that offers safe and reliable performance with our non-contacting screw design.
Dry Screw Vacuum Pump Working Principle
A dry screw vacuum pump consists of two parallel, non-contacting helical screw-shaped rotors rotating synchronously at high speeds via precision gears. They rotate in opposite directions, and in so doing, trap a quantity of gas at the inlet and transport it towards the exhaust port and into the exhaust channel. The walls of the stator and the special shape of the intermeshing screws form the compression chambers or pockets that transport the gas. The rotors do not contact each other during this compression process and, as a result, there is no need for lubrication or operating fluids in the compression chamber.
Choosing Between Liquid Ring Vacuum and Dry Screw Pumps
In recent years, dry vacuum technology has become more prominent throughout industrial applications. Oil-free vacuum technologies offer desirable energy-efficient alternatives to liquid ring vacuum counterparts. However, no industrial vacuum technologies are the same or work best for all applications. To evaluate which vacuum technology is most suitable for your application, consider the capacity demand, vacuum level, gas inlet temperature, and discharge pressure required for your site. Next, contact a Nash Engineer so we can help choose which vacuum technology is right for you.
Benefits Of Dry Screw Vacuum Technology
Easy Maintenance & Quiet Operation
Dry screw vacuum pumps require no water or oil for sealing or lubrication in the vacuum stages. Consequently, these dry vacuum systems eliminate effluent generation, pollution, and high treatment costs.
Wide Operating Range
VSB dry screw models operate at any pressure between blank of and atmospheric pressure. Pumping capacities are virtually limitless when paired with a high vacuum booster pump.
Reliable Performance
The VSB Series low rotational speed ensures smooth and robust operation. Engineered to offer higher discharge pressure handling capabilities than vertical designs, allowing for more process time. With higher vapor and liquid tolerances, dry screw vacuum pumps have a long service life.
